Discovery Channel

Hi,

I have the Discovery Channel on my cable TV, but it is in Thai language. I was told that they do provide the English version on a second audio program, but my TV was not capable of using a SAP. Before I buy a new TV with this option, I was wondering if it was possible that the Disovery Channel I have on cable (may be satelite) does NOT have an English track?

Also, do the Thai channels have an English soundtrack on some of their programs from English speaking countries? Occassionly I will be flipping through the channels and see an American program or movie dubbed in Thai. I was wondering if I had a newer TV would I be able to switch those programs to the original sound track.

Thanks!

This asks the question if you are maybe in an apartment and don't know what you have?

Do you have a cable converter box made by Scientific Atlanta? If so you need a TV set that uses the Germain Stereo system to be able to switch soundtracks. And yes, Thai TV stations do provide soundtrack of many imports.

The satellite system (where the box has a smart card), I believe, lets you chose with its remote control.

If not above types you will have to ask apartment/provider.

Yes, I do living an apartment where I don't know what system they use. I have a cable coming out of the wall directly to my TV with no box at all. I'll have to ask the manager about it. Thanks.
