The well known doctor who runs the "Mor Lab Panda" fanpage has advised against stuffing a face mask in an air vent on a bus.

Dr Phakphoom Dechhatsadin said this was a sure way to spread the Covid-19 virus and was to be avoided.

Netizens were freaked after pictures went viral on Thai social media.

Either done by the bus operator or a rider because the air coming out was unable to be stopped as the vent cover was either broken or missing.  But still I can see how it would scare a few people.

HELP! I am living in a country where people need advice from a doctor to not stuff their face masks in the air can went. Aaaaaaaaah!

More victims of the paranoia virus.

Funny. I haven't rode the bus in Thailand for a decade or so but I used too all the time. This is like a flashback because I swear I've seen this before a long time ago in the past. They always had those broken air vents and something was often stuck in their to block the flow. I am quite sure I actually saw a facemask stuck in one of these way back. At that time, i didn't think anything because Thais mostly where masks due to the pollution. The air vents and other cracks where air flows through on buses are always filthy black due to the horribly polluted air in Thailand. Just touching that area will put filth on your fingers. Nothing much changes in Thailand.

Why so surprised? We live in a country with millions of Mary Poppins riding bikes with an open umbrella in one hand!

The 11,000 reported pneumonia deaths have nothing to do with it, right? Just plain honest reporting on Wu Flu?

Paranoia?...Why are you looking at me like that? Well? ????

The temperature of the air is probably so cold that it was like being in a freezer truck. If the vent doesn't shut, stuff something in there. What do you want? Chilled to the bone, or comfortable ride. Paranoia rules. Get a life.

When I worked at a bus depot in Sydney for a short time before moving here, a driver came to the workshop asking if we could fix an air vent

We gave the job to an apprentice, the cause or the problem 1 very loaded babies nappy  :w00t:

Opinions! They are like buttholes, everyone's got one! By the way, who is the main culprit  of spreading propaganda? FF no longer exist! They were too honest for the generals!

Your are exaggerating. The official death rate today is actually under 463,000.

And you must be about the only person in the world who actually believes the official toll is real. There is overwhelming evidence of it being grossly exaggerated. Just about anyone who expires with a trace of the so-called COVID 19 virus in their system as having died as a result of contracting it.

One US state fessed up to counting COVID-infected individuals who died of gunshot wounds as victims of the virus. In Italy, researchers discovered that out of thousands of presumed COVID fatalities only 12 percent were actually due to the virus.

There is no doubt the figures are being doctored. The question you and everyone else should be asking is. . . why?

Ah, I did say ALMOST! I would have thought the numbers were being played down to save face for some countries, anyway, infection and death rates are still rising in many countries!

It could prevent the mold particles coming from the vents from infecting people. Nobody ever cleans or maintains those ACs.

Indeed.

Source is the only reliable one in Thailand, their civic registration system ( https://stat.bora.dopa.go.th/stat/statnew/statMONTH/INTERNET/#/statdeath ) . As seen in the chart from BBC, ~5k excess deaths since January ( the blue triangle is 2.4k, it's been going on before that ). Why indeed would the figures be doctored, eh?

Per the BBC image above, 2 paragraphs of the Thailand narrative were include. This is the 3rd Thailand paragraph that was not included:

"In a similar pattern, all-cause mortality data have revealed a higher than average number of deaths in March that returned to normal levels in April and May."

We'll soon find out if Thailand's stats are bogus when schools and universities open next month. If the virus has not run out of steam, we could be in for a second wave with infected students (typically asymptomatic) passing on the virus on to families in multi-generation households.

For this reason, schools need to screen all children from day one and at regular intervals thereafter, and ensure parents of those found to be infected are informed. Not counting my chickens, though!

Yes, that's after the lockdown. So it did have the predicted effect.
