June 21, 20206 yr Popular Post As I occasionally do, I went to the ATM near my branch and withdrew some cash from my foreign account to deposit in my Thai account. I was quite surprised to see that the notes I withdrew were brand spanking new. I mean they were crisp, flawless, and of course in sequential order. Moving from the ATM I went to the CDM next to it and tried depositing those same new notes that were just dispensed from the ATM. Needless to say, that didn't go so well. While in the past the CDM would spit back any notes that were creased or had writing/marking on them, this time it kept spitting back this stack of new fresh notes and I'm thinking it was due to the fact that they were all perfect and somewhat sticking together. After several attempts with wrinkling them and trying to get the newness out I was successful with getting the CDM to take about half of them. I gave up after about 5 attempts. I guess that was a first for me. Even with the old marked and somewhat creased notes I find it humorous that a machine will give them to you but not take them. Machines, just like humans, not all are the same... ????

Actually I didn't want to: - Wait in queue - Get my temperature taken again - Sign in (social tracing) - Fill out a deposit slip BTW, I pay everything using cash so the need for depositing the entire amount wasn't all necessary.

So you are telling us you are ornery, and like to test systems. Yeah, welcome to the club.
June 22, 20206 yr If you take money out on a credit card, you going to get charged somewhere for the transaction at least once in your home bank and probably in your Thai bank/atm. The exchange rate will also be worse than TW.
