Student Visa Ends And Now?

Hey

This is my situation, before i came to thailand i requested a multiple entry non immigrant student visa, and after 90 days I needed an extension, accompanied with a letter from my school i went to the Immigration office which provided me with an extension of only 60 days! BUT i am staying in Thailand until mid of august for travelling.

Because my extension made my multiple entry unvalid, i now have a single entry non imm student visa, and have to leave thailand before 31th of may... and a requist for re-entry is not helping my date of 31th of may to change as far as i know.

Now my question is what are my options??, because a friend is coming over to travel here i dont have any time to visit a capital city of a country like Laos..., and i need to cover a period of approx. 90 days..

Is leaving the country and coming back as a tourist without a visa my only option(s)? And how many times can i go out of the country and come in again, as a tourist without a visa???

Was your multi entry visa marked canceled or used? If not it should still be valid if not past expiration date and you could leave/return for a new 90 day stay.

A re-entry permit does not change your permitted to stay date.

You don't have time to obtain a tourist visa in 26 hours but have time for 3 border crossings to obtain a free 30 day entry? Yes you might be able to do that three times 30 days if you have not used before but you may be required to show 10k baht and an airline ticket out of Thailand within 30 days each time.

No there is no mark for cancellation in/on my visa, i only got a stamp with a permission for extension uptil 31th of may and a Notice attached to my departure card. My multi entry visa is also never used, but my school told me that because of getting a extension at immigration offce my multiple entry turned into a single entry.

There is no problem of showing a e-ticket and 10K. Maybe it is more easy indeed to go to Laos Vientiane for 1 day and apply.

I do not believe you would have any problem entering with your multi entry visa for 90 days. Try it. Enter that visa information when you make your Laos trip. If they will not honor your visa you will receive a 30 day entry anyhow. Then you turn around and apply for tourist visa either immediately or 30 days later.
