Covid.. Why don’t we do it in the Beach?

Many of the UK's beaches have looked like that over the last few days not just Bournmouth.

Who wants to return to work when you are getting 80% of your wage and the sun is shining.

As for the virus , well I guess these people just aren't that bothered any more.

They are not that is why UK is leading in deaths in Europe. I liked the BBC article showing that the UK under reported its deatsh (and so did Thailand and many other countries). But it showed that its at least 64 k deaths. They compared normal death numbers with the numbers now during corvid. They did that for all countries so you could really compare things. Showed that the UK was really one of the worst no matter what the Brits on here like to believe.

But you see it on this forum a lot too a lot of people just don't care anymore. If that is the case they should either enforce the rules strictly or forget about the rules. Because if some part of the population ignores the rules all are at risk. It only works if everyone keeps to the rules.

Same situation we’ll see in Portugal, France or Spanish coasts this summer.

For sure as relaxing of rules just does not work. Just like we see in Thailand. Give them an inch and they want more and more. Just look at the bar scene. They were allowed to open with rules. But they want to open without rules instead of being happy to have been given a chance.

Relaxing does not really work. Seems an all or nothing thing is all that works.

The Thailand figures, from the BBC link in Robblok's post, indicate there were 2,300 extra deaths over normal in the period. Presumably this doesn't take into account the great reduction in road deaths because of quarantines.

How accurate are the official statistics?

Thailand (1 Mar - 31 May)

The number of deaths in Thailand has been 2% higher than average, with about 2,400 more people dying than usual.

Official Covid-19 deaths

57
Other excess deaths

2,316

No it does not you have to adjust for that. Still it shows a far more realistic view of deaths then what the government is telling. It also shows that corvid is still here and letting go of all rules is foolish.

But the way its going now its better to give up completely then to go through the trouble of being a good guy following the rules while other flaunt them and make your effort in vain.

Too many selfish people around.

Tend to agree. We see the contradictions in Thailand too. People have been banned from beaches but the BTS and underground in Thailand have been jam packed.

At least people wear masks in the BTS and get scanned for temprature. Bars will be a total disaster no masks, alcohol makes people even more forget about the rules. So it will be a total disaster. So then why not give it all up.

The people on this forum have indicated that they will never follow the rules in bars and I am sure they are not alone. So why keep rules at all if we are creating hot spots of infections.
