Your workplace should give you a little card at some point that lasts a couple of years I think it is. It'll have your number and registered hospital on it. Is that what you mean?

Used to get a card by mail every 2 years. Then when I registered my yellow book and pink ID, SS office told me they weren't sending me cards anymore and I should used my pink ID card. Yet somebody here said he got a card. So maybe the best thing is to get a Thai to call the SS office; or if not then drop by your friendly local SS office. Bring a book to read while you wait in the queue. If you're in luck the front desk (where the queue numbers are given) might be able to answer your question.

The SSO used to send out a paper ID good for 2 years, but did away with that, probably because your info is now online. Now no card is necessary, with one exception. If you are a alien and paying your own way, they will send you a plastic card good for 2 years. At least that's how it was explained to me by the SSO.

The SSO card doesn't appear to have my hospital's name on it. I've never had to produce the SSO card when visiting my hospital. All I need to do is show the registration clerk my appt slip or medicine, which shows my patient number that was assigned to me by the hospital. Rarely do they ask me to show my passport. If you have a Thai ID card, that should suffice in lieu of your passport. The hospital also gave me a ID card but I've never had to present it.

Maybe the SSO card comes in handy if you have a medical emergency and need to go to another hospital.

I have been in the Thai social security system since January. I was given an official card after a few months.  If you are registered at an hospital telling them your social security number should be enough.

Before getting the card I went to the information counter of an hospital and they checked in their computer system. It was OK and they printed a piece of paper showing my status.

Has social security for over two years - never had a card and was told that they're not required anymore. You just have to given you number at a hospital and they can look it up.
