About 12 opposition MPs have signed up to grill the Government over the 3.3 trillion baht budget bill, which is scheduled to be debated in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

 

Opposition chief whip Mr. Suthin Klangsaeng said Tuesday that opposition MPs will question projects which they considered to be ambiguous, duplicating other work or unnecessary, such as road construction and maintenance and arms procurement.

 

Although the Defence Ministry claims to have cut back on procurement, Mr. Suthin said he found some expenditure unnecessary, under the present circumstances, while other procurement projects appear to favour certain arms dealers.

50.000 THB for each and every Thai. Equals 3 paychecks for the state if every Thai would work and pay income tax. Considering only the workforce that pays income tax  it would be a lot more than three salaries.
