Nominees

Featured Replies

There is an article in a Huahin newspaper saying that foreigners using nominees have been arrested in Huahin. All claimed that lawyers had told them that what they were doing was legal. The nominees all said that they had simply signed the paperwork and that was that. There was no mention of any lawyers or nominees being arrested. The properties were all in the millions of baht property range. Various nationalities were involved

Yes, Pattaya next most likely, be worried if you are in a villa type housing area

Arresting Thais has no news worth, No once cares, But telling arresting foreigners is news worthy, and might scare people that know the do wrong to do the right thing.

They have already had crackdowns in several Pattaya areas. For instance Huay Yai, south of Pattaya, had many arrests last couple of weeks.

Buying land is completely safe when if you have a Chanote (Nor Sor 4 Jor) for it. Brits know this as the freehold for the land.

Don't be a criminal, breaking the law. Buy what ever you want ... LEGALLY

What do you call 15 lawyers drowned when their super yacht sunk ??... not enough . I haven't met too many honest lawyers in my time. Most of them are only intersted in your money $$$$

All these foreign investors would have known full well that they were skating on thin ice when they signed the contract but the returns made it attractive. There wouldn't be many millionares who haven't done a dodgy deal or two along the way so it's no good blaming the lawyers.

Call me a cynic, but there's no money in going after the Thai nominees. With those property prices though, there's a lot of money in going after the foreign owners.

Seems like they are targeting large Villa communities that have high end houses. I don’t see them just going to a nice small village of older homes. I guess they are making more with the new pricey villages.

Haven’t heard anything yet about the condos that are owned in company name. Maybe I’m missing some news.

Yes it's likely if the thai nominees can't be found easily it will just be deemed an illegal company
