Coronavirus has revolutionised work for thousands of people who have discovered they can work from home as effectively as the office.

But Rhodri Francis discovered he could work just as easily in Thailand.

He got stuck there when his family arrived mid-March to attend the Songkran Festival - one of the most important dates in the Buddhist calendar. "It doesn't make much difference," Mr Francis said.

He works for Cered, Ceredigion Council's Welsh language service, and was unable to return home to Llanilar, near Aberystwyth, because of lockdown.

Who is going to be the first to mention it?

You know what I mean.

I expect his trip dates coincide best with his job, holiday-wise.

Don't encourage other posters to be rude!  Unless it's hilariously funny!

I don't know what you mean.

No clues needed.

Wouldn't Presume it's not going to be mentioned.

At least it´s very good that they also got his face on the picture and his full name.

On the other hand, this is what to be expected in the times of a visa amnesty.

The dreaded two words are getting closer.

????

A big gap between the interview and eventual publishing;

Why is it good?

Are you suggesting that he is doing something illegal?

There is always one.....or two.

He clearly has a job in the U.K and paying taxes in the U.K. So definitely not taking a job from a local.

I've heard Thai girls speaking many languages , but never one enticing a customer in Welsh

Not suggesting anything.

I think he probably passes as a "digital-nomad". It's possible to work online without problems, but, TIT!????

You have to be careful in Cardiff.

I was sitting in a bar there years ago and two girls were talking. I thougbt they sounded Irish so I said what part of Ireland are you from?

They replied it's Wales you idiot.

So I asked what part of Ireland are you two Whales from?

Woke up on the floor 20 minutes later.

Ok 15 posts above and nobody has posted the actual two words.

As Greavsie said  'It's a funny old game'.

Ah but for Thai ladies hearing " I work for the Welsh council' is akin to hearing " My name is Bond....James Bond"

Close but not close enough,

It's a joke about misunderstanding in Thailand, you replace the two rr's with two mm's..

the 2 words I could have said to the fella,

before it was past the Point of Too Late

- "Return Alone"

But Rhodri Francis discovered he could work just as easily in Thailand.

Judging by the fact that he's been coming to Thailand every summer, or that he has a Thai wife and a daughter, it's pretty clear that he "discovered" working from Thailand a long time ago.

And we know he doesn't have a... how do you call it... it's apparently very important... Someone else help me out here.
