The first amendment talks about the government, and what it can and can’t do.

Facebook - as a platform - as an entity is perfectly within its rights to reject views it doesn’t fit within its own ethical boundaries.

A bit like a Christian cake maker not wanting to make a cake celebrating a gay wedding.

You're right, Facebook, as a private company, can censor its content. But it cannot do that while at the same time claiming immunity from civil lawsuits.

And we all know how much you guys supported the rights of the cake-maker. The cake-maker had no such protection as that the social-media monopolies enjoy.

Trump needs to forget about the Wall. He has a few months left in his administration. If I were him, I'd spend the rest of my time and power doing everything I can to BF the technocrats.

Facebook. Jeez.  They're doomed and we all know it.  Can't carry on forever and a new kid on the block will arrive soonish.  Social media evolution isn't my cup of tea but can see where this is heading and Facebook will not hold a monopoly in the not too distant future.

People don't want their apps to be predisposed to political leanings.  Simple.

If social media is not your cup of tea why post on TVF? Nothing wrong with Facebook

I met my wife on Facebook 15 years ago and yes I don't post pics of food.

Don't get it? TVF is social media as well and there is more nonsense

by political biased poster on TVF than on Facebook.

You might actually want to read the thread before posting your revelation that social media must be good because you met your Thai soulmate on social media. You could say the same thing about online whorehouses like ThaiCupid.

No thanks I don't read that <deleted> or Thai friendly I was only referring to social media.

Nobody is arguing that social media isn't a good way to meet women. Good for you. I'm happy you were able to meet your soulmate on social media. I'm not sure how that is relevant to this thread, however.

I hate Facebook.    Whats gonna happen now?

It hit another all time high today. Everybody knows this boycott is a farce. Most companies are simply pausing for a month. After that they need access to the billions of users FB offers and nowhere else can.

Everybody hates Zuck but he and the people leading FB are very smart. FB is just getting started.

They are strange beasts aren’t they? Basically anyone who they disagree with is a ‘leftist’. I always have a bit of a giggle when their posts come up. They are inanely predictable.

Its a sad construct that has gained currency as the insult de jour for the reactionaries and other assorted chest thumpers who’s political ideology only goes as far as wrapping themselves in a flag yelling ‘my country right or wrong!’. Compassion? Forget about it! The past? The place to be!

These fellas call themselves free marketers but are really all about (as we see here) dictating to everyone their version of the truth.

I’ve joked about it before, but for these guys, anyone to the left of Ghengis Khan is a ‘leftist’.

Well you claim they label anybody they disagree with. Okay fair enough but then you go on a rambling path to stereotyping every single conservative in the same manner. It's almost written like you are winking to people how have reader the same script. It's really weird when you haven't been to TV in a few weeks and then read the posts here. People go into some sort of weird internet character that matches their narrative.

Bonus points if you really actually giggle. The lockdowns do seem to be causing true mental damage in some.

The one thing I find incredibly ironic is the socialistic Left being wholeheartedly supported by the richest billionaire, monopolistic, technocratic, multi-national companies and meanwhile these people still fancy themselves "revolutionaries." No, you, my friend, are the status quo. You're the corporatist status quo. You're the furthest thing from a revolutionary.

TV isn't a social media platform.

Not sure why you're so defensive about my Facebook comment, to be honest, as I don't recall denigrating it.  I did state that they won't hold their current monopoly forever and not sure what relevance meeting your wife and posting pics of food on Facebook has to do with it.

A very rum response.

How is TVF not a social media platform? Maybe on the outdated side, but still.
