I have not been taxed or paid extra for many electronic part's I have bought for my bike.

I think it would depend on the part or if what's listed on the shipping manifest description triggered a flag.

 

I've never had an issue, but have seen mentions here on ThaiVisa of people ordering replacement parts that got held up because 'some component' required certification or an import licensed before it could be cleared for entry  --  especially if the 'component' was a functioning transmitting radio.

Paying tax on incoming items seems like a lottery. Got stung for about 18% today on some plastic discs. But lots of other stuff seems to get through Thai Post without any charge.
