Keep your umbrellas handy: heavy rains are expected in some areas of the East and the South while continuous rainfall is likely over the country, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast today (July 7).

 

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

 

North: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Pichit and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 24-27°C, maximum temperature 34-38°C.

 

Northeast: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 25-27°C, maximum temperature 34-38°C.

 

Central: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram. Minimum temperature 24-26°C, maximum temperature 35-38 °C.

 

East: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-26°C. Maximum temperature 31-35°C. Waves 1 metre in height and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

 

South (east coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla. Minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum temperature 33-37°C. Waves 1 metre in height and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

 

South (west coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 23-25°C. Maximum temperature 32-34°C. Waves 1 metre in height and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

 

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 26-28°C, maximum temperature 34-36°C.
