Arrived at Immigration at 8.40 am, expecting a lot of people - I was disappointed, only about a dozen people, but no farangs.

IO asks me what I wanted to do, "Non-Immigrant O-A Retirement visa extension".  His first and only question, do I have health insurance?

He closely checked my documents - completed TM7 form, passport and copy of all pages, bank book and copy of all pages going back 12 months with bank letter from the day before (he closely checked every page of my bank book and checked that the last entry in the bank book agreed with the amount in the bank's letter), copy of house lease, copy of letter from my pension fund indicating my monthly pension amount, and letter from health insurance company.

Given a number and sent up stairs.

I expected a lot of people - disappointed again, only one IO working and one person being served.

Within about 2 minutes another person came in, the IO finished with the first person, asked me what I wanted to do, and then served the person who came in after me (wanting a 90-day report).

After a couple of minutes the IO summons me.  First and only question, do I have health insurance?  IO checks all my documents, tells me to take off my mask for a photo, and informs me that my visa extension only covers the 11.5 months that my health insurance is valid, not 12 monthe from yesterday.  IO asks for Baht 1900.

8.55 am, walk out of immigration with another extension, but only 11.5 months!!!

Great efficient service.  My quickest visa extention in 7 years.
