Pattaya: Thai media reports resort is watchful after case of Egyptian soldier in nearby Rayong

Thai media 77kaoded reported that the authorities were out in Walking Street trying to ensure that Covid-19 regulations were being followed to the letter last night.

This followed the case of an Egyption soldier - one of a group of 31 military personnel who visited Thailand briefly - who tested positive for coronavirus.

He is believed to have visited several department stores in Rayong though there is no suggestion he was in Pattaya.

The media said that the authorities were out advising bar patrons to wear masks.

They said that Pattaya was even quieter than normal - two or three days ago it was quite busy, but not now.

Dont get it, when you enter Thailand , you need a certificate to show "no covid".

31 came in with no certification? Ah , ok no dirty farang, but color skin!

If Pattaya are running scared they will have to recover the key to the city from the Sudanese Ambassador following the report of a Sudanese diplomat's

daughter testing positive for COVID 19.
