Getting medical extension extension of stay due to surgery

Featured Replies

Doctor recommended vein surgery back in April but said due to Covid could not due it now come back in July. Subsequently my work contract was not renewed May 31st so in amnesty situation. I have been searching for work. I need to have the surgery before I could even consider long overseas flight and as I have Thai social security insurance want to get the surgery done here. Has anyone ever got extension of stay in country without being due to an emergency situation?  I have appointment for July 30 arranged back in April but want to move it up to next week if possible. My SS hospital is private hospital and the surgeon only comes in 2 days so I may be stuck with my July 30 appointment.

Your hospital should be able to apply for a medical-extension, which should cover any time you are immobile / unable to travel.  You would need to ask them about this - they may have staff who handle these extensions.

You can apply for a up to a 90 day extension for medical care. You need letters confirming it from a hospital and/or from a doctor.

As the hospital where you will be having the surgery about the paperwork needed.
