90 day reporting but I have no passport

Featured Replies

My passport is being renewed and due to my silly mistake it looks like there is a possibility that the new passport will not be back in Thailand until after my next 90 day immigration report date . I know that once I finally get back the new passport I will have to take it to immigration to have the stamps transferred from my old passport into my new passport.

I have colour photocopy's of all the pages from my passport that is being renewed and I have the original departure card and the next 90 day report paper that was stapled into the passport.

So I was wondering what would be the best course of action should my new passport not arrive back in Thailand until after my next 90 day report date.

I was thinking about trying to do an online 90 day report ( never managed to get it to work in the past ) or a postal 90 day report .

I’m not sure what immigration would say if I turned up on the 90 day report date and told them that I currently don't have my passport because its being renewed and still out of the country , but I do have photocopy's of original departure card and the next 90 day report paper and every page of my passport.

Any suggestions

By post would be simple if you can't do online. Don't need passport for either way, just the imfo.

There is NO need to do your 90-day report during the Amnesty.

This has been officially announced by Immigration and mentioned many times on the Forum.

Doing it in person by going to your local IO during the Amnesty is simply a waste of time.

And in your case it would even be somewhat like 'waking sleeping dogs'.

In course of coming days Immigration will announce how to deal with 90-day reports after the Amnesty is over.  It is as good as certain that the 90-day reports not done during the Amnesty are 'considered done' and that the appointment date for your next 90-day report will be 90 days after the due date of the last one which you didn't do during the Amnesty.

Immigration already announced that if you did not do your 90-day reports during the Amnesty, that you would be required to do your next one IN PERSON at the IO > see attached Notification.

Why do you not have your passport. As far as I know all embassies here return them to you since it is mandatory to have your passport.

One embassy I am aware of holds your passport when done by mail until the new one arrives so they can cancel it and then mail it to you with the new one.

The mail in option is the only one you have if you do not have your passport if it is due after the 31st.. I assume the new amnesty will include 90 day reporting so you would still not need to do one after the 31st.

The USSA holds the old passport. I felt very uncomfortable being more than 2 weeks without a passport when I had to renew mine recently.

I would not like that either. I think I would chose to apply in person and get my passport back after they cancel it instead of being at least 2 weeks without it.
