SET-listed PTT has asked permission from the Energy Ministry to raise the price of natural gas for vehicles (NGV), which fuels public buses, to Bt13.62 per kilo after the government's price subsidy expires on July 30, said the ministry’s permanent secretary Kulit Sombatsiri.

The government subsidy of Bt3 per kilo has cut the price of NGV from Bt13.62 to Bt10.62 per kilo.

In a related matter, the ministry will propose a new price structure for NGV to the National Energy Policy Committee soon, he added.

so if this relates to an increase for all NGV users it's not very good timing.

PTT have virtually a monopoly situation in Thailand .. with no control of new builds .. Shell petrol station in Prasat, PTT build a station on both size of it .. one on the way in and another about a ½km past Shell on the way out !!!

With all the pressures that are on the Economy at the moment, any rise in Gas to the NGV sector will mean an increase in Inflation.

Ok, its  what the Government want, but the people certainly dont need it.

I would freely give the ruling party a tasty whiff of my gas.
