Siam Chon News reported that Pol Capt Sombat Kaewmoonmuk of the Pattaya police and Sawang Boriboon rescue were called to a condominium block in central Pattaya about 1pm yesterday after a foreigner was found dead.

Sixty eight year old Roger C. from the UK was found hanging from a vent in his room in Building A on the third floor.

He had fashioned a noose from cloth.

There were no signs of a struggle, injuries on the body or foul play.

The victim had been dead for at least 5 hours.

Building manager Chukiat, 37, said that the son of the housekeeper had contacted security after he was unable to enter the room.

A spare key was used after repeated calls from outside the room went unanswered. The manager intimated that the deceased was the owner of the condo.

Capt Sombat said it looked like suicide.

An autopsy is being carried out at the Police Hospital to confirm the cause of death.
