The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) is ready to meet the increased demand for train services during the long holiday weekend from July 25 to 28.

"The company has arranged staff to publicise interchange points from where passengers can transfer to other public transport, such as bus, taxi, or boat," BTS executive director Surapong Laoha-Unya said.

"Passengers can take a train to Mo Chit or Ekkamai stations to take an inter-provincial bus at Bangkok bus terminals or go to Bang Wa or Saphan Taksin stations to take a boat at Bang Wa or Sathorn piers."

He said to reduce passenger congestion, BTS will operate 98 trains, adding that people should plan their travel.

"To ensure commuters' safety, we have told officials at all BTS stations to provide security services for people, such as checking passengers' belongings before using train services," he said. "To prevent the spread of Covid-19, passengers are required to wear face mask and refrain from talking while travelling," he added.
