Stranded Thai workers in Uzbekistan told to behave

The Thai Embassy in Moscow has warned Thai workers in Uzbekistan who threatened to burn down their camp so they could return home quicker that they may end up being the last group allowed to return and even be arrested upon arrival.

An official document from the embassy also said the workers may end up remaining overseas for 10 to 15 years.

The embassy advised them to be patient and follow the regulations or the Uzbekistan government may refuse to help Thai authorities bring them home.

Currently, all international airports in Uzbekistan are closed, while the Thai Labour Ministry is working to find a way to rescue the stranded workers.

Maybe they took part in an exchange program. You know... Uzbek hookers populating lower Sukhumvit, and Thai... (you fill in the rest).

I'll bet they had some pretty disgusting jobs. A job in that country that they can't hire done locally?

I hear it's different when you're slave labor.

A very long way to travel for a visa or passport renewal etc.!! There is no Thai Embassy in Tashkent, only a Thai consulate -

Mr Zafar Sobirovich Ergashev - Consul General.

Oh, I’ve filled in plenty ????

I wouldn’t threaten people there-they could disappear-they left on foot, we have no idea?

Seems Thais are frustrated with Immig officers and the way they are treated...oh the irony......jai yen yen!!!

All in all for me a very pleasant posting
