Hello all

Does it matter how old the Thai to English translation is ?

The Translator said 2011 documents old (in that case my Marriage one is no good to )

Used all these Docs for sons Auss Citz 2 mths ago

The Translator went to Uni in England

The fee seemed very expensive (I hope there's more to the story )

Thanks all

It really depends what the translations are, what they will be used for and who they are for.

(A 2011 translation of your marriage certificate should be fine provided it's clean and presentable, because the content of the translation will never change).

It depends what you call expensive, a standard one page translation can cost 300 Baht, whereas for something more detailed such as a Thai birth certificate, the cost could rise to 500 Baht.

There just the usual documents for my sons first Passport

5000 bht

I checked my files & looks like sons BC (not know the other one ) - Lets say 1000 bht

Im presuming in this fee she will send 6 or more docs to MFA for Certification

Courier fee / Ect

Don't presume anything!

You need to confirm with the translation if her charges include MFA certifications and EMS postage.

MFA legalisation is about 300 baht per document, so your estimate is way out for 6 documents.

For 6 translations + legalisation + EMS, I would expect a ballpark figure of around at least 4,500 baht min.

All ok now

but wife has to run around as they found something wrong with her BC

The price was for all but will no doubt have further costs due to BC
