Kor Ror 22 Bangkok Trip Report

Recommended Posts

I want to give back to the community and help others new to this process.

A Kor Ror 22 is needed to apply for the 1 year extension based on marriage.

In order to get a Kor Ror 22, I did the steps below:

1. Get an Affidavit from US Embassy stating that I am married to my wife etc.

2. Get the Affidavit as well as the marriage certificate translated. At the translation place, also request the Affidavit be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign affairs. Costs for me, if I remember correctly, was $900 baht for the translation and MFA legalization of Affidavit, and $800 baht for translation of marriage certificate.

3. Take above docs as well as your passport, wife's ID and blue house book to local Amphur.

Bangkok's Amphur we used: https://goo.gl/maps/bXeVAu7oZV9nP9HE9

4. You require to have to witnesses that can provide their ID's and signature. You can ask friendly helpful people in the lobby to be witnesses. You do want to pay them.

It took about 2 hours for them to process all the paperwork if there was no line.
