If Tourist does 72 H covid test before flying and get tested at arrival and does 14 days quarantine,  why should there be categories ? After going trou all this Thailand should assume the Tourist who did go trou it should be Covid free right ? So' please explain categories?

That is a very good point indeed. Cheers!

You have to pay for it yourself i think

No "tourist" is going to go come to Thailand under these conditions.

There are many who stay for several months. They will do it.

There are categories because it is based on the assumption that many will want to come if allowed. You always base on the worst case scenario. Categories limit the worse case. When they see they can handle all the testing, they can expand the categories.

I know some say many will not jump through the hoops to enter. However, open the gates and I, for one, will jump through any hoops you want.. even bark like a dog! LOL. The rest of you can wait until next year or never!

He is most likely saying this just because he's been ordered to do this when he does not want too.

He may have also been ordered not to say anything foolish. ????

That naturally begs the question of how he would know he's saying something foolish; fool never knows this, he just talks.

Get to BKK airport you will then be escorted to you 500000 BHT  hotel for your 14 night stay in quarantine if you have 100000bht covid insurance and have been tested 10 times for covid 19 , after your 14 night stay we will escort you back to BKK airport where you can enjoy buying some holiday gifts from the airport duty free . I hope you enjoyed your stay in the land of smiles .

What about elite card holders? Are they now allowed to enter?

Yes they are allowed to apply to return at this time.

Why are people complaining about all the rules for quarantine ?  There are no planes to get you to Thailand. Do you understand ???

Is this plan in the works? All Non O  yearly extension holders : please provide your bank balance to your embassy abroad those with 3 million baht and above may fill out the COE - welcome back !

All I want to ask is will it be as effective as your rip off quarantine scam. Also are you following the same roadmap as you used to destroy a economy and lives in one great blast.

This A for arrogant will find a way to destroy any plan. Best let Baukaw Banchamek devise the plan. Similar brain set anyway.

The initiative to allow foreign nationals to enter the country will be focused first on trade persons conducting business negotiations, as well as technicians and installers of specific machinery, whose visits are generally short and less than the 14-day quarantine period.

So, are they saying that people on a short visit aren't likely to spread COVID-19? Really?

No, they're saying that having an entire factory shut down, with thousands unemployed or sitting idly by and looking at the broken machine is pretty devastating when the service guy who's qualified to fix that one machine can't get into the country for the half a day it will take him.

BANGKOK — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said there is currently no plan to expand the list of foreigners allowed to enter the country, including retirees with homes and families in Thailand.

Press officer Yajai Bunnag said only four groups of non-Thai nationals announced in the latest regulation are permitted into the Kingdom at the moment. They include those holding a certificate of permanent residency, a work permit, those who have a special arrangements with the government, and migrant workers.

They really should let retirees and those with Thai family into Thailand. It's not fair to them.

Some retirees have been in Thailand for many years so why are they different from PR?

What are difference between migrant workers and work permit?

Land borders  from Laos open 24/7.  No immi..

A short boat trip too Thailand ,  Nkp.

A lot of nebulas comments. Thailand cannot keep her borders closed indefinitely and will have to follow other neighbouring countries. Until some arrangements can be made for tourists to enter Thailand safely none will come neither will International Airlines schedule regular flights to Thailand until they can hope to get sufficient passengers to make them economically viable. Covid will probably  be present for many years to come as there is no certainty that any effective vaccine will ever be developed so will have to live with it as safely as we can,  Meanwhile there is a strong possibility of economic disaster which will far out way what has been experienced so far. Health of Thai Citizens must be paramount as whilst no tourists more and more will become unemployed.

In regards to the Chinese. Hire them full Ebola suits with breathing apparatus with a back to base alarm in case they attempt removal.

Whoa, what a loss of face for Mr. "Dirty Farang" hater!

Actually some, including myself would. I would probably stay for 3 months (2 months + extension) so a 14 day quarantine would not be a complete non-starter. But probably very few would.

If the border with Lao is not open in September, do you think they will extend my amnesty?

They will likely make you go back to your home country.

After ranting about foreigners, now he's being forced to find ways to let more in. What a tool.

Reeks of desperation.
