Energy Ministry aims to increase 60,850 NGV vehicles and 270 NGV stations this year

The Ministry of Energy is pushing forward the establishment of the NGV installation standard while stimulating motorists to use NGV.

Energy Minister Piyasawasdi Amranand presided over the ceremony of granting approval certificates to standard NGV installation service centers in Thailand. He says the Energy Ministry has set up a working body to approve the standard of NGV installation service centers. The working body includes representatives from the Energy Business Department, the Land Transport Department, and PTT Public Company Limited. The objective is to boost public confidence of NGV engines. Approved business operators can have at least 200 cubic meters of operation area together with expert engineers and at least one year of insurance.

Currently, there are 31,700 NGV vehicles and 118 NGV stations. The ministry aims to increase the number of NGV vehicles in the country by 60,850 vehicles and expand the number of NGV stations to 270 stations by the end of this year.
