The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) raided eight warehouses in Bangkok on Tuesday (August 11) and confiscated counterfeit brand-name products valued at more than Bt100 million.

The largest warehouse, where copies of expensive brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Coach were stored, is located in Phasi Charoen district’s Khlong Khwang area.

Pol Lt-Colonel Korrawat Panprapakorn, DSI director-general, said the raids were planned after police tracked down the source of fake products.

Police also arrested a Chinese national, who is reportedly married to a Thai woman and ran the business by bringing the products from China to sell online in Thailand.

He was charged with selling counterfeit goods and will be investigated for legal prosecution.

Charming race of people, quick, open the gates and let the masses in!

This doesn't look good for submarine deliveries. What if we end up with a Chinese made fake instead of the real thing........(sound of Klaxon horn..."Dive dive dive!".......gurgle....)

I wonder how long it must take to remove all this DSI officer's badges, 'medal' ribbons, rank tabs and other awards off before laundering and then put them all back on again after ironing ? Typical Third World approach to decorating a uniform.
