Popping down to Penang shortly and it's been many a year since being there.

Can someone give me some info on taxi costs from airport, somewhere reasonable but cheap to stay, and a good visa agent for Thai consulate.

Do UK citizens still get a free one month visa for Malaysia?.

Uk get 90 days visa. Oriental Hotel near Chulia St. Cost from airport about 40 r. Negotiate.

It is a set rate from the airport of 38 riggit. Of course you could always split the taxi with someone.

There are a lot of visa agents, just walk down chulia street. The cost should not be more than around $6 for the service, visa is of course more.

For place it depends your price range.

Not sure how cheap a hotel you're looking for. The Northam is a stunning hotel and if you can get in on a special rate, it is real good value given the quality of the rooms, service and location.
