I decided to put my money were my mouth is and put the 520 chain on my bike.

Front sprocket 13t from the NSR

Rear sprocket 41t from the Phantom

It all cost me about 1000 baht with the install done at Honda. I didn't buy the parts from Honda just got the service there.

Everything works just fine but the bike revs about 1k rpm more for every 10km 100km/h=8k RPM. Before 100km/h=7k RPM. I prefer using the old gear ration but for that I would have to drop the teeth on the rear sprocket. I've looked at a few shops and everyone tells me "phantom luck 41, only 41, don't make other"

The chain that I thought was a 520 was actually a double o-ring 428 chain.

Anyone have any experience with phantom sprocket? I would like to drop the rear sprocket to 37t to 39t preferably 38t or 39t. I found a 40t but I didn't buy it because I would like to drop at least 2 teeth.

Try mocyc.com they have a lot of shops there.

Cbr150club.com also has a lot of shops you might be interested in.

What kinds of parts were you looking for?

Couldnt find it browsing through all these pages so that why im asking if anyone knows a mechanic in Chiang Mai who knows what he is talking about when it comes to slightly tuning my carbed cbr150. any cbr150 specialised shops in CM?

I would tend to think there are quite a few as it is such a popular bike.

If you wanted to play it safe you could go to a big place like Niyom Panich down the road from Airport Mall on your way back to the moat

Right next to large Toyota? dealer I think it is.

They have a very large professionally staffed service area around back good prices too.

Or you could also try the Piston Shop where Nat speaks English very well & does a lot of modding of various bikes

You can order whatever they can ems it to you.

Any honda dealer or small motorcycle shop should be able to modify your bike. As long as your going to bore to a reasonable size. You can email akunar they speak English and email back pretty quickly.

I would worry more if it were a fuel injection model. But of course I figure you don't want to go with a bike

I have 2013 CBR150i now on 1300 km. Few days ago I bought akrapovic carbon full set exhaust from Teera Motorcycle and installing was done there. Sound quite cool when compare with stock exhaust however most of time when I let off throttle and slowing down exhaust making small booming sound. Its like small explosion. I wonder if it's normal. And if its not normal will my Honda dealership can fix that?

It is quite normal what your hearing.

It comes from lessening the exhaust restriction/baffling

Some will say you have a leaner condition some will say richer.

(arguments can rage about that one wink.png )

You can now add a EFI controller like power commander etc. to lessen it & take

more advantage of your less restricted bike if you want.

That aside what you can do right now to lessen it is when decelerating completely let the throttle close

It will probably not pop at all or very slightly. The popping mainly occurs at partial closure/ slightly open throttle while decelerating.

Of course may not always be feasible but try it as it is easier done than explained wink.png

DID chains are DID chains. The difference is the size 428 CBR 150, 520 CBR 250.

No, they aren't the same.

A non-Thai DID chain should be good for over 50k km, ime.

Your wrong the size of the chain matters. The bigger the chain the more durable it is.

This is of course true, but you seem to be completely unaware of other factors that also affect durability.

The stock CBR250 chain is Japanese manufactured. Hearing from owners they seem to last over 50k km+.

Since I've posted this I've switch over to a 520 chain. Using the front 14 from a NSR and rear 41 from phantom. I've ridden about 10,000km and I've not once had to move my tire back to compensate for chain slack.

520 is just a better chain.

I have heard places like dirt shop? sell & do dyno tests.

But really you do not need a pro tune & probably none really do alter maps.

Power commander usually has a few maps to match likely modifications such as changed exhaust & air filter.

That would be close enough.

But also all EFI controller come with software & if you

are interested you can alter the values of rich/lean at various

throttle settings.

I am not even sure they do one for CBR150? Probably as it is a

popular bike.

But also you can order one from abroad too.

You may or may not get hit with customs charges

Check online websites: ThaiVisa classified; BahtSold; & Craigslist /Thailand.

RE chains on CBR 150's: Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm

pretty sure the older carb version had the more expensive 428 O-ring chain as stock,

and the newer injected model uses the cheaper 428 non-O-ring type.

Local dealer would sell either only as a set with sprockets.

~2600 &1400baht respectively if I recall right, and they are functionally interchangeable.

I needed to replace a really rusty chain on a low mileage 2008 model.

As my sprockets were still good, I chose a non-O ring unit at a small shop for 450baht, installed.

A friend of mine just sold his 2012 CBR 150i for 54k it's far enough IMO.

Resale value of both the CBR150 and 250 are terrible, really.

Last time I enquired the new 150 was 90k baht.

Almost new 250's seem to be going for 80 odd k.

Must be hard to get rid of them, even without the new 300, or 284 coming out.

can buy a K&N filter here for 2250 but thats a bit too much for my taste

I was using k&n air filter on my carbed honda cbr150. It was ordered from usa and paid around 100 usd so 2250 is not a bad price.

Just use the original one from honda. It shouldn't run you more than 300 baht. Or go to your local bike shop and buy a pod filter and make your own figment.

can buy a K&N filter here for 2250 but thats a bit too much for my taste

Check places like Pekky's etc. & look for DNA brand

Slightly cheaper than K&N but just as good IMHO
