In-country options after ED Visa

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm currently on amnesty (visa exemption) in the process of getting an ED visa, which would allow me to stay until march 2021, I'm looking at the next step after that. -I'm planning on getting married, can I get a 60 days extension based on marriage to a thai, then follow with a non O 1 year extension? Can I get the Elite visa without leaving the country? Any other switching option? Is non O volunteer possible?

You could apply for 60 day extension and then the one year extension near the end of it. But some offices may not do the one year extension and state  incorrectly you need a non-o visa entry to do it.

A Thai Elite PE visa can be applied for and issued while in the country.

You would probably have to leave the country to get a extension for volunteer work.

If you are below 50 it is possible. Just got mine 2 days ago.

Switch from ED? Interesting! I didn't want to paint myself into a corner with a visa that only gives me 6 months but it seems the ED leaves things pretty open-ended overall!
