Non-O extension money problem

Featured Replies

I am currently on my 6th retirement extension from Udon Thani Imm, the 800k in my bank type. I must apply for my new 7th extension on the 6th December. I have been a fool to allow my bank balance to go below the 400k which is required to remain there at all times. Now I have 800k in my account for the 3 months of seasoning up to the new extn due date of the 6th Dec.

My question is what will Udon Imm due when they spot this deficit in my bank balance and what are my options going to be then.

Hope the borders are open for tourist entry and you can leave/return to start over, converting to non immigrant O visa entry.  But you can plead your case a few weeks before in hope that they may allow you to continue your extensions.  The rule was not designed to catch out honest errors or penalize those needing funds in emergency but unfortunately that seems to be the net effect if enforced totally.

Does Udon check the balance for the whole year?  I renewed my O extension at Korat in June.  They didn't even ask to see whether I had kept 400K in the bank all year, just checked that the 800 was there for 3 months.

Actually it should be 3 months after extension and 2 months prior to next application for extension.

not saying this should be punished but with less foreigner processing occurring I would suspect scrutiny to be increasing with those remaining..

There are still few imm offices that require 3 before. Think UT might be one. Yes crazy.

OP, you didn't mention how much under the 400k you were and for how long.

Have every chance to be rejected.

Attend imm with all your paperwork hope for best.

No success then use an agent.
