webfact
Pattaya: Locals terrified as "extinguished" fire starts billowing smoke again Thai media 77kaoded reported that residents in the North Pattaya area were terrified after smoke started billowing from a six story building where a huge fire was thought to have been extinguished. They thought their properties might once again be at risk. Firefighters had fought all Monday night from 1 am (Tuesday morning) to extinguish the blaze on the North Pattaya road. A warehouse containing wood and paint was on fire along with an old restaurant and a luxury six story building where the owner of the warehouse and his family reportedly lived. After six hours when daylight came it was thought that the blaze was completely extinguished. Indeed investigators were entering the scene to conduct an investigation that started yesterday afternoon. However at 6pm yesterday smoke again started billowing from the fifth floor of the luxury home and appeared to be spreading to the sixth floor. Firefighters again swung into action getting the situation under control quickly. Residual build-up of heat was blamed. The media reported that officials were now keeping a close watch on the structure and area of the fire.
