NSO discloses unemployment rate in NE tops list

The National Statistical Office (NSO) indicates the unemployment rate in the northeastern region ranks first in the country. Relevant agencies will calculate the number of unemployment rate and available positions to plan for employment in the future.

The NSO Secretary Mrs Thananuch Tritipphayabutr (ธนนุช ตรีทิพยบุตร) discloses the employment in the northeastern region is up to the condition of agricultural businesses. The highest rate of the employment within the region will be reported on the third quarter due to harvest season.

The NSO Secretary has cooperated with relevant agencies to gather information of unemployment rate and worker shortage in other careers. According to the research, it reports the inadequate number of workers in textile industry and animal’s food industry.

The Education Ministry will use this information to train skilled workers in line with the demand of the market.

When they say "unemployed" what are they refering to?

What about people working in noodle shops with their Aunts?

What about farmers farming rice?

What about people with a tractor who hire out their services?

Do they mean people who are not employed by a western styke company? Or maybe people who do not pay taxes????
