The locals don’t want foreign tourists coming in. They just want their money. If that is not possible, they think the government owed them their livelihoods with their claims.

This comes to mind

"To prepare for a second wave"....when was the first wave? It wasn't even a ripple! Phuket and Thailand in general is committing an economic suicide by refusing to accept that the virus is here to sta

I hate to insert reality into discussions that are purely fantasy based and no one will listen anyway but I will amuse myself nevertheless.

Reality:

1) The Chinese economy is severely squeezed due to the trade war, the CCP Wuhan Virus, historic flooding and devastating typhoons. The Chinese government is bleeding money and DOES NOT want its citizens traveling abroad spending money. China is facing a potential food crisis and the government is issuing directives to "Eat Less". Does that sound like they are clamoring to travel?

2) The entire world has taken a financial hit  in 2020 and the discretionary money for traveling has also been severely restricted.

3) There are not millions...hundreds of thousands or ever tens of thousands of international travelers anxiously awaiting for Thailand (or any other country) to open back so they can flood the airlines and hotels again.

4) Thailand (TAT) keeps coming up with lofty plans to welcome(?) tourist back by imposing major obstacles to entry into the country????? How utterly silly. It is beyond amusing.

If Thailand wants international tourist to come back they will have to COMPETE for the business with many other countries who want the same. The government and TAT has to offer MAJOR incentives for people to come here and 14 days of quarantine and restrictions on movement will entice NO ONE!!!!

So, unless the geniuses who run this country are ready to incentivize tourism, there will be NO recovery in said tourism.

The so-called leaders of TAT and Thailand need to take a serious program of instruction in the "Art of Critical Thinking"

DUH !!!!

If only the "Art of Critical Thinking" was taught in schools the country would be better off.

But the dinosaurs at the top don't want the younger generation to able to think for themselves. Then the kids would realise PDQ what a sh!tty deal the 99% of the population have been having for decades thanks to the 1%.
