Phrae Governor Athikom Suphanphong (อธิคม สุพรรณพงศ์) reports that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has authorized the Royal Irrigation Department to construct a reservoir at Mae Sai (แม่สาย) Forest in Tambon Pa Daeng (ป่าแดง), Phrae Province.

The Mae Sai Forest, which has the total area of 614 rais, is one of the country’s national forests under conservation. After the ministry authorized the construction on March 8th, the Phrae Province has instructed the provincial irrigation office to expedite compensation for residents affected by the construction.

The province affirms that the provincial irrigation office will stick to compensation criteria issued by the Royal Forest Department.
