BANGKOK(NNT) - The Prime Minister has delivered awards to government agencies with excellent financial management practices, while elaborating on the need for government expenditure planning, to ensure the money will reach the general public as quickly as possible.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has presided over the award ceremony for 20 government agencies with excellent financial management practices for fiscal year 2019.

The Prime Minister has congratulated the winning agencies, saying that this award shall mark the pride of all working officials, and reflects the effectiveness of each agency in their commitment to take care of the general public.

He has said the Comptroller General’s Department will have to shorten the time required for government disbursement processing in transactions from government agencies to the general public, but must remain careful, transparent and accountable.

The Prime Minister said civil servants have their roles in driving the economy as operators, and must take care of the general public equally and fairly, adding that Thailand will only move forward sustainably from good governance and cooperation.

They seem more concerned with patting each other on the back than helping out the masses ! As usual.

Thailand is a bastion for corrupt officials and entitled wealthy.  it has no middle class to speak of  and therefor is not sustainable.  Coups = good governance, oh please.

Oh they have blend in some ladies from the kantine for a sense of diversity.????

Summed up nicely

This reminds me a little bit of the taxi stories. Like bad taxi driver and honest taxi driver. Here we have just changed it to one day late payments to elderly and money running ut, to this one with medals of greatness being handed out.

so did BMTA or Thai airways attend

I would say government disbursement processing has always been fast and what's left goes to the right places at some stage ????

So, how much did this shindig cost the tax-payer?

The ones that contributed generously

It must have been a very, very short ceremony
