LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's Queen Elizabeth has formally stripped Harvey Weinstein of his honorary award following his conviction for sexually assaulting a former production assistant and raping an actress.

"The Queen has directed that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein to be an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 29 January 2004, shall be cancelled and annulled," according to an official announcement in the London Gazette said.

Weinstein, 68, is serving a 23-year prison term in New York state following his Feb. 24 conviction. He has appealed the conviction.

and her son, will she also remove his gongs?

Next up for a stripping is one non sweaty lying tub of lard ????

If I were her, I'd have just kept quiet...   And fired the advisor who suggested it.

It's not as if she couldn't foresee the backlash aimed toward the hypocrisy of it.

Andrew should be next.

The Queen has dropped a BIG 1 with this, stripping Weinstein of his honour was a very crazy thing to do at the moment.

Only difference between Weinsteins case and Andrew is Weinstein has been convicted in a court of law, Andrew hasnt and probably never will be.

Royalty have always been a protected species, as for Andrew he'll take a "back-seat" for now

Lol...????

Weinstein, does not deserve any honors.  Glad he is in jail.

Andrew is another story. Thank you Queen Elizabeth.
