Was there a few weeks ago.  Unless things have picked up significantly, it’s pretty dead which for some can be nice and for others kinda depressing.

There were only a handful (Half dozen or so as it seemed) of the major restaurants open (Cafe 8.98, Rakhang Thai Bistro and Bar At DusitD2, Pyramids, The Indian restaurant and a few others) but foodpanda seems to have lots of Thai restaurants that will deliver to your hotel.  Only one of the waterfront restaurants in that complex at the For the chain restaurants, Subway, Starbucks, Haagen Dazs and one Burger King are open.  Both McDonalds are closed.

A few bars were open including the beer bar area (walked by and looked in) and the Reggae Bar on the main strip.  Can’t say what was open along the waterfront as I didn’t venture down there at night.

Don’t know anything about Railay but it’s definitely worth taking one of the tours out to Hong Island as it is virtually deserted so you can swim, sun and snorkel in peace.

Dusit D2 had the best deal I have ever seen while staying in Thailand.  999 baht for the King D’lite room with their Thai resident program (says you have to show a Thai DL or work permit but I doubt they’d turn you away if you don’t have one).  Pretty sure you have to book directy through their website as there was a code to input.  (ask for building 6 4th floor or higher when you check in and you’ll have a great sea view from your balcony)
