So for a mere 1 million USD of investment, AND a 1 - 2 million baht spend on the card itself, you have the 'right' to work and pay taxes, employ thais, rent an office, etc.. 

 

What a deal !!! The queue will be visible from space !!

Doesn't make any sense. You can invest a tiny amount into a business together with a partner and would be eligible for a work permit. Someone who has a million dollar square to play around doesn't need a work permit in Thailand of all places.

Plus the entire mindset that they will sell you this right.. They should be rolling out red carpets of perks to anyone who is willing to import a million USD, it should be free elite card privileges, a concierge service for banking, packaged products, luxury services, etc.. Instead of incentivizing this investment, they believe they should charge you for the right of doing it.. It blows my mind ???? !!
