Going to MTT tomorrow with US Embassy COVID letter but actually waiting for another visa. Reason for extension?

So I have an appointment at MTT for tomorrow.

I have all of the documents required: US embassy letter, copies of passport pages, photos, etc. etc. However, what am I supposed to write on the "reason for extension" part?

I'm actually waiting to hear back on another visa I applied for and was told by the BOI that I would have an answer by 16 September (and I applied more than a month earlier), but I was told today when I called, because it's late, that they are WAY behind schedule and are doing their best to catch up. So what do I do? Do I write "waiting for an answer on my other visa" and also bring copies of those emails? Or do I just write "COVID-19" (and also is that all we write or is it longer than that?) ?

I don't want to make the process more complicated than it already is by telling Immigration about the other visa I'm waiting for if COVID-19 and the embassy letter should be good enough. What is the exact wording people have used to get the full 30 days?

Also, I am currently on amnesty after a 30 day visa-waiver entry (first one ever) and one previous 30-day extension. Prior to that I was on non-F, non-B and non-ED, if that means anything.

I just went today. I simply wrote "Covid-19".  It was good enough.

Thank you! Did they give the full 30 or just under consideration?
