Rapid Test for Covid-19

Featured Replies

They are still working on it. and hopefully this time they make more clever and fairly decision. The news just come out today.

They allow infected Thais to board the flights because they don't require a test, nothing will change.

I am really hoping for something such as this (an instant Covid-19 test), however, fundamental flaws exist - It can take over a week after being exposed to SARS-CoV-2 before someone tests positive for Covid-19.

That said, IMO the quarantines are preposterous - allow travel, allow tourism, allow choice.

Those at 'true' high risk may never get the vaccine and protection they need. Whereas those others who are told they are at high risk may be no more at risk from Covid-19 than they are from regular influenza and thus can continue taking precautions.

Until they fix the up to 30% false positives it will be a waste of time

The only "false positives" I am aware of are the cases where people can test weakly positive long after the infection is over, based on the presence of RNA fragments that have no clinical significance. They are a problem, but do not amount to anything like 30% of positive cases.

Yep, allow choice to infect others, allow choice to cause a resurgence in another country. Thailand chooses not to allow this. Their choice.
