webfact Posted September 28, 2020 Share Posted September 28, 2020 Alleged Russian thief in custody after stabbing Doi Suthep park official Sanook reported that an official of the Doi Suthep - Pui national Park in Chiang Mai was stabbed by a Russian man allegedly caught stealing from tourists. Patrols had been stepped up in the area of the Doi Suthep temple after a spate of thefts over the last two months. At 3 am on Sunday the 32 year old Russian was spotted and approached. He ran off and was cornered but refused to give himself up. A park official was taken to hospital after being stabbed with some scissors. Phuping Ratchaniwet police were in attendance and the suspect was also taken to hospital after first aid was administered.
