September 28, 20205 yr Has anyone recently (since covid 19) applied for renewing their US passport by mail. I was wondering if it is now ok to do again since the virus because it was on hold for awhile. Thank You
September 28, 20205 yr Mailed in application have been accepted for some time now. See: https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/adult-passport-renew/
September 30, 20205 yr Popular Post I applied in early September. Since I live in Bangkok, sent my old passport & application to the US Embassy in Bangkok (following the instructions linked to by ubonjoe above), and received my new passport in just 12 days. Quite impressed with the speed and efficiency of the process.
September 30, 20205 yr I did mine in early August. Follow the instructions on their webpage. Be sure to use the CHECKLIST they supply to make sure you send in everything needed. I got mine back in 3 weeks. Easy as pie!
September 30, 20205 yr Mailed my application in on 11 September. Already back and updated 29 September by immigration. Super easy, far better than the old trip into ACS by appointment.

February 4, 20215 yr You need to gather your documents and apply for your passport several months before your trip. First-time applicants, minors, and applicants who need a new passport but may not renew by mail may submit their passport application at the Post Office. The U.S. State Department website explains what you'll need to bring with you. But I think it is better to go to the passport office and bring the documents by yourself. I think it is safer and you will be sure that your documents arrived and you know exactly how much time you need to wait until you get your passport.
February 5, 20215 yr EMS is you're friend in this. A registered service. I just did mine (Canadian ) but EMS quick and efficient. I would worry in the least. Randell
