Jai Dee Posted April 30, 2007 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Severe traffic congestion reported after heavy rain The Traffic Control Center reported severe traffic congestions after a gush of heavy rain and thunderstorm, leading to temporary flooding. Traffic Control Center added that there were long lines of cars cloggeg at main roads, including Ladprao (ลาดพร้าว), Ramkamhaeng (รามคำแหง), Bangkapi (บางกะปิ), Chokchai 4 (โชคชัย 4), and Bangna (บางนา), Chatuchak (จัตุจักร), Bangplad (บางพลัด), Sukhumvit (สุขุมวิท), due to road slippery and floods. The center also informs road accidents have affected traffic in areas. In addition, the construction of BTS-extension in some areas has caused the heavy traffic, while traffic jams were seen on Chalermmahanakorn (เฉลิมมหานคร) Highway over half an hour. Long lines of cars clogged almost all main roads, particularly in the eastern suburbs of Ladprao, Ramkamhaeng, Bang Kapi and Bang Na. More from the Bangkok Post here.
