Yes, checked into it, according to an immigration lawyer almost all compassionate applications are refused with the bureaucrats giving no explanations as to why. Australia is a Gulag, only the rich and connected can travel out freely.

Plus George Pell !

why are these Chinese coming here?

Possibly to discuss the development of new hotels with associated casino complexes similar to those across the border in Burma and Laos, to bring back mass Chinese tourism in the first instance???? For example "The Allure Resort" (casino) just across the border in Tachilek where I used to have small "flutters" on my shopping trips into Burma.

2 Days in Tachileik, Myanmar

the  old  nonsense  has  resurfaced  again

UK 6 months travel insurance including Covid has standard medical cover up to £5,000000 x 40thb =200,000000thb, I think, not enough noughts on my calculator...555. Many policies have £10,000000 too.

They seem to be confusing themselves with all the bubble?  So what insurance do you need now?  $100,000 USD or the O-A?

So what airlines do you recommend to get into the place are so we book a steam liner?

Can I get in trouble for these questions?????

So no 100.000 USD special Corona insurance needed now? New rules every day in this country!

And no mention of GPS tracking that was mooted yesterday.

Strange how in China aside from Public holidays the minimum annual leave entitlement is only 5 days, so how and why are these Chinese coming here? Nothing to do with tourism thats a fact.

So all 1.6 billion of them are in full time permanent employment?

Indeed! While returning Thais can come from any country and don’t even have to be Covid-tested before departure to TH.......

They can hardly refuse them repatriation to their native country. I think they did initially before realising how unreasonable that is.

I'll bet there is a massive interest from Europe, USA and Canada. People want to get out of their mismanaged nightmares, walk around without a mask and live a normal life again.

Then again this could go all wrong. There could be a first wave in Thailand leading to massive shut downs. Leaving farangs stuck in their guesthouses all day, without restaurants to serve them.

What about us expats that has a retirement visa or extension of stay but we are in our home countries at the moment? I don't want or need a long stay tourist visa. I have an insurance already, had for many years. I have family, not married, in Thailand. I hope we can come back to LOS with the same permissions, quarantine, proof of insurance and address where we lives.

The purpose seems to be to generate tourism revenue rather than being on compassionate grounds.

Guys like you should have been allowed back in first, look at the amount ,like you, that are stranded overseas, and would have been spending money within the Thai economy had they used their heads,i personally know 3 people in your position, but no way are they going to jump through the hoops that the Thai Govt have in place at present to return.

Just as an example, one of them plays 8 rounds of golf every month, and eats out almost every day,but that money in now being spent in Oz instead of Pattaya,so it gives you a good idea of where u guys are on the food chain in the Brains trust department in Bangkok.

Did you miss the 2nd requirement in OP

> Accept compliance of preventive measures as prescribed by the government....

Pretty much same words PM quoted when he said he want tourists to wear the trackers

When will this list of low risk countries be revealed? Aside from the paymaster generals China.

Maybe they are canal diggers? A change of heart?

Just hang tight. All these requirements will be dropped by January.

You're joking right?  The first positive test of someone outside their quarantine period will result in this new STV idea being cancelled. Rather that dropped by 'January', I predict 'history by January'.

so 2x insurance policies are now required

one for covid and the other the same as OA visa plus all the requirements like bookings, bank deposits, tests, GPS tracking and all the quarantine requirements

are they mad

In patient and out patient come under one policy for starters, hopefully the process will get fine tuned sooner rather than never but most of the requirements aren’t as bad as they sound. I didn’t see where GPS tracking was a requirement?
