Daily News reported that parents across the Sarasas chain have demanded action and founder and chairman Piboon Yongkamol has clashed with parents in TV interviews. He has shown a complete lack of contrition even suggesting that if his school in Nonthaburi is to be closed he'll make more money from the land sale. Now the Facebook page of prominent lawyer Ronnarong Kaewpetch reported that parents were shocked on seeing footage of their child being abused. The child was crying and had its mouth and nose covered by the classroom teacher's hand. The child was even fully enclosed in a black bin bag in an attempt to stop the child crying. There are claims this happened to a child as young as 2 years old in the nursery after a beating. Give him the plastic bag treatment and throw in the closest dumpster. Break the order, automatic 10 years jail and 1,000,000Baht fine. I really hope there is severe punishment and it's soon and well publicized, it may help to frighten other schools into behaving appropriately and to only employ properly qualified staff. Plus make it law that all schools must have many working CC cameras covering every nook and cranny of the whole premises and stored videos for at least 1 year. Any official or parent discovers any camera is not working, the school manager gets 100,000Baht fine per camera plus extra 10,000Baht per day until proven to be fixed. Unfortunately, we all know unless there is quick processing of this case and severe punishment then nothing will change. Yep I know, nice to dream but this is LOS.
