226 dengue fever cases reported in Roi Et

226 dengue fever cases have been reported in Roi Et province, with officials expecting more cases than in previous years.

The Public Health Physician of Roi Et province, Dr. Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai (สุวรรณชัย วัฒนายิ่งเจริญชัย), revealed that the dengue hemorrhagic fever situation in Roi Et is currently widespread, with 25 patients undergoing treatment in January, 42 patients in February, 105 patients in March, and 54 patients in April. The area with the highest number of dengue fever cases is Seraphum district with 69 patients.

The Public Health Physician of Roi Et province revealed that dengue fever may occur in all seasons, but is most prevalent during the rain season, due to the availability of mosquito breeding ground. Dr. Suwanchai added that preventative measures against dengue fever include flushing out water containers, closing lids to water containers, and eradicating mosquito breeding areas with chemicals.
