A sacked Nonthaburi school teacher, whose physical abuse of kindergartners in the classroom has raised a national debate on violence by educators, has filed a police complaint against the parents of a student for assaulting her.

On Sunday, Decha Kittiwithayanun, a lawyer and president of Thanai Klai Thuk Lawyer Network, brought Onuma Ploadprong, the sacked former teacher of Sarasas Witaed Ratchaphruek School in Nonthaburi province, to Chaiyaphreug Police Station to file a complaint against Charnwit (last name withheld) and his wife, parents of a student, for allegedly assaulting Onuma on September 25 at the school.

Decha said that Charnwit and his wife assaulted Onuma in anger after they saw a CCTV footage of Onuma punishing students in the classroom by banging their heads on their desks, pushing them to the ground or twisting their ears.

Decha also represents the Nonthaburi-based private school as it was being sued by parents for failing to supervise its staff which had led to the alleged assaults on their children. The school announced on September 28 that Onuma and three other teachers related to the incident were fired.

“I admit that what I did was wrong and want to apologise to society and the affected persons,” Onuma told the press. “I have not made contact with any parents since September 25.”

Decha added that he was responsible for around 30 legal cases filed against the school and involving 13 teachers. “We will handle legal actions based on the evidence we have. Some teachers confessed to the assault but some insisted that they were innocent, so we will take this to court and let them decide,” he added.

WHAT !!!you disgusting excuse of a woman, you abuse children, who are unable to defend themselves, yet you have the nerve to file a police complaint against the parents, unbelievable... you scum.

It's Thailand...it's never my fault...some say USA has a compo culture...just look at Thailand..

In a civilised society, she is correct to be protected by the same law that is protecting the children placed in her 'care.' Of course, it depends on what the parents did to her. And as a parent, I would have found it hard not to smash her face. But the law is the law, and there for all.

Exactly. When ones kids are involved, even the most meek, mild mannered parents are not going sit back and let the perpetrator get off lightly.

the other parents should track her down and beat her up everyday

freaking coward that beat on kindergarten children deserve no mercy

She's seen a chance and wants money.

I suggest the parents (all of them) file assault charges against the teachers and those in charge, every one of them.

Eye for an eye etc

She beat up children and now is suing the parents for rightfully losing their cool. Obviously she hasn't thought it through the parents can counter sue her for beating up their child.

No doubt she thinks she's special, the normal values of society and the laws of Thailand don't apply to her because she's a teacher.

this happens to most kids.   talk to your kids.   likely they have been beaten.

how can we report a teacher without video???

In a civilized country as there is video evidence she'd already be in custody held without bail, awaiting trial and facing a lengthy prison sentence. T.I.T.

Don't agree. That would be the parents dragging themselves to her level. As long as the parents insist, and persist, the authorities do justice and not accept the all too familiar Wai plus apologies, then something might actually get done.

And if someone slapped her they deserve the same.

Irrelevant. Vigilantism in any form or degree is 'taking the law into your own hands' and is against the law.

So going on your theory, she deserves the same as she did to the kids. Totally agree with you.

My opinion is she wants to drop my charges if you drop your charges kind of scenario. Of course some wais all around will probably solve things.

She should in prison on remand

No you mis-quoted my post.
I said the slapping has to stop, if a teacher does it then the law should take care of it, if a parent slaps the teacher then they are just as guilty...
