Sarasas school: We did not urge sacked teacher to file police complaint

Sarasas Witaed Ratchaphruek School insisted it did not urge sacked teacher Onuma Plodprong to file a police complaint against a couple who allegedly assaulted her after seeing CCTV footage of her punishing students.

 

On Sunday, Decha Kittiwithayanun, a lawyer and president of Thanai Klai Thuk Lawyer Network, took Onuma to Chaiyaphreug Police Station to file a complaint against Charnwit (last name withheld) and his wife, parents of a student, for allegedly assaulting Onuma on September 25 at the school.

 

Decha said Charnwit and his wife assaulted Onuma in anger after they saw CCTV footage of Onuma punishing students in the classroom by banging their heads on their desks, pushing them to the ground or twisting their ears.

 

Onuma had claimed that she received backing from Sarasas Witaed Ratchaphruek School to file the case against the parents.

 

The story has since become a hot issue on social media.

 

In response to Onuma’s claim, the school clarified on its Facebook page that Decha was only hired to advise on legal issues, with the aim to stop the dispute between the school and parents over physical abuse at the school.

 

The school assured parents that it had no intention to fight them and did not urge Onuma to take action against the parents.

 

Onuma was sacked from Sarasas Witaed Ratchaphruek on September 24 after she was interrogated and confessed to the abusive action against kindergarteners in her class.

 

On Tuesday, a case of abuse was filed with police in Nonthaburi again after parents of a student saw CCTV footage of the ex-teacher allegedly stripping their girl naked in front of a Filipino teacher. The incident took place on September 18.

 

On the same day, Provincial Police Region 1 said investigators found 54 cases of child abuse at 10 Sarasas Witaed schools located in areas under its jurisdiction. Up to 13 teachers have been found responsible.

 

The police said they would summon executives of all Nonthaburi Sarasas branches on Wednesday to acknowledge charges of violating the Teacher’s Act.

For which the legal systems will punish her for doing.

As for the parent that assaulted her, they equally should be punished according to the law... or do you all advocate a two tier system that punishes one and not another just because it suits you.??

For f***s sake

Yes the parents probably assaulted her. I would hope that the courts would show compassion to the parents and give leniency on the grounds that the parents were severely provoked seeing their helpless child assaulted by this woman. In the UK Judges have discretion in these matters

One would expect she (they) will be punished by the legal systems but TIT. There were 13 teachers doing this student punishing and I doubt any will spend a day in jail or pay any substantial fine.

I'm not sure how many of them had "teaching licences" to take away.... maybe revoke their "nanny papers" ?

A top private school charging thousands per term employing many untrained staff at low cost... 

 

Horrible that stuff like this goes on in a modern world.

Anyone who beats up my kid will end up in hospital.
