BANGKOK, Oct 16 (TNA) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will announce its plan to tackle fine dust pollution next week and will implement it on Dec 1.

Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang said he discussed fine dust solutions with representatives from many organizations as the pollution of particulate matter 2.5 micrometers and less in diameter (PM2.5) would normally return from December due to stagnant air.

He met representatives from the Pollution Control Department, the Department of Disease Control, the Department of Health, the Meteorological Department, the Department of Land Transport, the Department of Energy Business, the Department of Industrial Works and the Royal Thai Police Office.

Might like to consider how to deal with the upcoming smog season whilst they are at it.

Form a committee and talk a lot then do nothing is the normal approach.

An off topic post has been removed.

12 million people all setting fans on hi and pointing towards towards the gulf or CM oughta do it.

Dust? dust is just fine typically infertile dirt for the most part. Anything this small has only become existent from combustion. First step is admit that the burning of fields, forests, charcoal manufacture, etc is the main cause. Meaning Thai people are causing this. This is not a natural event.

Street sweepers and a nightly wash on main roads would help...

Please don't say knock the dust off the molasses sprayers and get ready to fire them up again.

I'm afraid this wouldn't help too much.

Shameful how many years this has been allowed to go on. Turn those water cannons in the right direction!

Dear unamazedloso, would you allow?

Sentence 1 ok, depending on the time of the year and of the location.

Sentence 2 ok 100%.

The dust is not due to stagnant air it's due to farmers illegally burning up north and the wind turning from SW to NE.

They should stop discussing this every year and start doing something about it.
