Extension Of Tourist Visa On Date Of Arrival?

Featured Replies

Hello,

if i arrive in Bangkok on the 5th of June with a 60 Days Tourist Visa, is it possible to go to the Immigration office on the same day and get an Extension of the Visa of additional 30 Days so that i can stay 90 Days in total without going to the Immigration again?

Or do i have to wait until the end of the 60 Days Period to get the Visa extended?

Thank you,

Alex

Although they may accept it I would wait until the normal last week or two.

But it would be much cheaper for me that way instead of taking a Boat from Koh Tao to Koh Samui, spending one night and paying for a room in that shithole and taking a boat back the next day...

Give it a try.

Basicly you can extent the visa, but it depends on the Immigration Officer.

The closest office upon your arrival in BKK is in the new Novotel Hotel , next to Suvanahbumi Airport.

If money is your concern, take the boat from Koh Tao to Chumpon and jump on a bus to Surat Thani. It's longer but it might be cheaper than going to Koh Samui. Since you have to stay one night anyway. I've also experienced immigration on Koh Samui, and they used to have their own "pricelist" :o for extensions. I've been charged 5000 baht one time, for a 30 day ext. at the immi. office in Nathon.
