How long does it take to vote in your country ??

Watching the news I am aghast at the queues and length of time taken for people to vote in the US. There are quotes of 1hr to 5hr queues.

In the UK I think the longest it has ever taken me to vote was about 10 mins.

It would be interesting to know if these reports from the US are correct and if so, how they can be justified in a country that can serve fast food in less than 3 minutes.

It would also be interesting to know typical voting times in other countries

Australia it depends where you live. Voting in most state schools, usually only a couple of minutes. Its also compulsory which gives a much more true representation.

 

Its very sad to see the US makes it such a hard chore to vote.

the US voting is taking longer then usual because the majority of Governors from Republican  states did anything and everything to make vote difficult for older people, people with disabilities and so forth by removing voting places/drive by boxes, etc...or reducing the number of available places to vote by doing so many people had to vote at one place when in the past the same quantity of people would be voting in 5-6 or more different places..... all part of Trump's/Republican's game
